It’s getting HOT in the coffee house! Summer is here and we’re welcoming it with the only way we know how: with the sweet gift of POETRY! And this summer we’re adding our own little twist: This summer each slam will have its own theme that will give every poet the chance to earn a little something extra! And we’re kicking it off~

SATURDAY, MAY 18th!

SLAM WORKSHOP & Volunteer Meeting 5:00-6:30pm
Workshop led by Spoken Futures Inc.!

POETRY SLAM: 7:00-10:00pm, signup at 6:30
Hosted by Amy Briseño & Lydia H.!

This Month we’re kicking it off with a COVER SLAM!
Slam or remix someone else’s poetry or even just draw inspiration from another author! As with all themes, this one is optional, so you can slam your own work just like always. But if you cover another poet, you’ll be rewarded with +0.5 points!

At BENTLEY’S 1730 E Speedway
near the UofA, across from McDonald’s, extra parking behind the building and in the UA lot on Cherry & Speedway

2013 Summer Slams:

  • May – Cover Slam
  • June – Storytelling Slam
